It was the late nineties when Jewels got a set of 1210s and most weekends she’d be heading to London’s best record shops. A dedicated vinyl pursuit began and having already been musically hooked since the ’80s, she began searching out those old acid house tunes and all she’d missed along the way.
In 2006, after first being invited to play out by industry friends, Jewels found herself armed with an impressive collection of vinyl and an intention to develop within the industry began. Launching her own night ‘LDN Underground’ at EGG Club and vinyl only ‘Spinage’ thereafter, Jewels was hosting regular shows on radio with her first co-produced EP Nu Breed ‘Stop The House’ signed to Audio Rehab in 2013. Critically acclaimed and with support from DJ’s including Sossa and Dave Seamen, co-produced ‘Blessings’ EP on Krafted followed closely behind after featuring in both Traxsouce and Trackitdown house charts.
With an accomplished background behind her, Jewels is well seasoned in the art of DJing. Her roots firmly in house music, she knows her history and performances reflect considerable knowledge. Appearing on line-ups nationally and internationally in Shanghai, Goa and Ibiza, Jewels has a powerful appeal with deliverances both on vinyl and digital and a taste for playing deep house and nu-disco flavours that make her a perfect compliment to many settings. Beats from 80’s electro and old skool to cutting edge deep tech are just a handful of ingredients she uses in her sets.
